Bringing the outdoors in: Creating a kid-friendly clinic with DPV

DVP Health aimed to create a more inviting atmosphere at their Early Childhood Intervention Service (ECIS) centres, crafting spaces that felt magical and welcoming to both kids and parents. The goal was to infuse the clinics with an Australian charm, captivating visitors from the moment they walked in.

Our design team responded by creating a scalable, adaptable Australian landscape illustration, populating clinics with adorable native animals—making it a happier place for all.

Creating an Experience

Aiming to create an immersive experience right from the entry doorway, we designed an illustration that could gracefully extend from the entryway to all six consultation rooms, each named after an Australian animal featured in the artwork.

A Touch of Local Magic

We drew inspiration from the lush outskirts of Melbourne, embedding the artwork with 13 native species to spark curiosity and exploration. This approach not only celebrated the local wildlife but also turned the centre into a discovery journey for all who came to visit.

Reimagining the Space

Our creative motivation was to make the illustration versatile enough to fit various spaces without losing its enchanting continuity. We designed the artwork to loop seamlessly, ensuring that it could adapt to the unique layouts of each centre, including integrating with doorways and existing structures.

Transforming the Experience

This project was a transformative journey for DPV Health’s ECIS centres, aligning the physical spaces with their goal of providing a nurturing, joyful, and exploratory environment for all. The new design was a fundamental shift that enriched the centres’ ability to engage children and their families, setting a new standard for kids' spaces.
