One of the things we are most proud about at Thirst is our culture and the strength of the team. When I took over as GM 18 months ago I felt a weight of responsibility to maintain the incredible culture that our founders Ben and Ange had fostered. A culture we had all learnt to love and expect.
So when our annual Great Place to Work certification was up for renewal I did hold some nervousness around whether the team would feel we had maintained our award winning culture, despite the level of change we had experienced as an organisation. It was to my great relief and joy that not only did we achieve re-certification for the 3rd year in a row, but we smashed our ceiling and have been recognised as one of the top 10 workplaces in Australia! Being officially recognised as A Best Workplaces in Australia™ in the micro category is a testament to our entire team and the values we bring to work every day.
We take a holistic approach to employee experience and believe in supporting individuals to be their best self. This in turn allows them to authentically come to work and develop relationships with co-workers, foster a sense of community, feel safe and welcome to try new things and to problem solve using creativity and technology. All of this develops trust which we know is at the foundation of a high performing team. What does it all mean? Whilst we don't get it right all the time, the wellbeing of our team is at the forefront of our decision making. A happy team that is focussed on delivering the best outcomes for our clients and partners. It's a win:win:win situation and one we are proud to shout about.
Of course culture is the sum of its parts but it has to be acknowledged that our Head of People and Culture Michelle Jones has done an incredible job of designing and implementing our team culture. Congratulations Michelle!
